ELASTRON G is the brand name of a family compounds based on styrenic block Copolymer SEBS (styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene) and polyolefins, which shows some of the rubber properties and has the advantage of thermoplastic processing techniques.
• Is as strong as vulcanized rubber and does not require vulcanization
• Provides quite higher saving on the processing costs
• Remains flexible from temperatures -40° to +130°C
• Is 100% recyclable
• Has excellent resistance to detergents
• Has grades with flame retardancy
• Has up to 100kN/m of tear strength
• Has excellent resistance to most acids and bases
• Has grades with very low compression set
• Has grades with very high abrasion resistance
• Is resistant to bacterial attack and fungus growth
• Is resistant to degradation at elevated temperatures
• Is an excellent electric insulator with very low conductivity
• Is excellently resistant to weathering, ozone, UV light, oxidation, impact and ageing.
• Allows direct colouring during processing by utilizing coloured polypropylene masterbatch
• Has low acute toxic potential, with many grades conforming to FDA regulations
• 2-shot moulding or co-extrusion onto PS or polyolefin components
